Hi, I’m Liv,
I just graduated from undergrad and I have no idea what I want to do for the rest of my life. I majored in political science, but I don’t know if I want to climb the ladder in Washington D.C. or open up a surf shop in Costa Rica. I am a former volleyball player who doesn’t know if I should continue a career in coaching or if it’s time to turn the page and do something new. This is all to say that if you are looking for someone with the answers, you’ve come to the wrong place. However, if you’re like me, and are just trying to figure it out, then this might be the place for you (assuming you take all advice I give with a PILE of salt, as most of the time I don’t know what is going on either).
A few things about myself that I do know and that I write about:
I am passionate about mental-health, specifically improving access to resources for everyone, but especially children and adolescents.
I am a former collegiate volleyball player who knows, and cares about, the pressure we place on young women from the time they are just girls, but also the potential within them.
I have experience with “good-girl syndrome,” and while that has led to success in the classroom and on the court, which I wouldn’t trade for the world, I am also learning how to redefine “success” on my own terms and build a life that I love.
One more thing,
I started this blog because of a small inkling within me that I am supposed to write, and about nothing other than the topics I want to write about. So here’s to listening to the little voice within us that tells us the next step but not the whole path, and to doing things that we’re afraid of. Cheers and happy reading!
